General Information Divine Mercy follows the Beaver Falls School District schedule with the exceptions according to the Diocesan calendar. Parents will be notified of any schedule changes as soon as possible. The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. for all students in K through 8th grades. Kindergarten dismissal is at 11:00 a.m. The Four Year Old Preschool Program meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The Three Year Old Preschool Program meets Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The breakfast program serves breakfast every day from 7:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. There is one lunch period which runs between 11:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. All grades eat together. Attendance Regular attendance is encouraged. However, if a student shows signs of illness, we prefer that they are kept home. Attendance awards are presented at the end of each school year. Absence If a student is going to be absent, the parent or guardian must call the school office by 9:00 a.m. to report the student off. Students must present a written excuse to the homeroom teacher after being absent. Following a communicable disease, a note from the doctor must be presented, stating the nature of the illness and certifying that the child is ready to return to school. Tardiness Any student who arrives after 8:05 a.m. will be marked "tardy" and must present a written excuse to the homeroom teacher. After five(5) nonconsecutive tardies a letter will be sent to the parents. If tardiness is continued, a conference with the parents will be arranged. Early Dismissal A written request from the parent/guardian is required for an early dismissal. Students and parents/guardians are to meet in the schoo office at eht approved time and sign out their child. Upon return to school that same day, parents are to sign their child back in.
